Deep in the tangled masses of vines lie ruined settlements, known as Infested Citadels. None who venture inside ever return, presumably devoured by the native horrors that lie within. The presence of a Citadel will impede movement through the surrounding area by exerting a zone of control.

When attacked, Infested Citadels will fight back using Psi Combat, in which attack and defence strengths are ignored. Morale level is quite important when attacking Infested Citadels. When attacked, Infested Citadels receive a 50% bonus due to their fortifications and ability to co-ordinate and direct Native reinforcements in the area.

The size and power of Infested Citadels depends on the amount of vines adjacent to the Citadel. Citadels can also generate vines in nearby empty squares, increasing in strength over time.
